Face masks extract the dirt from deep within the skin. They prevent and eliminate blackheads and provide the skin with minerals and vitamins to heal heal and maintain the skin.
Homemade facial masks can be used around 1-2 times per week. When it comes to more gentle versions of face masks they can be used almost daily however when it comes to such ingredients like Clay they should be used in moderation.
The main difference between face masks and packs is that the pack is more gentle on the skin and therefor can be used more frequently.
CLAY MASKS
When it comes to different skin types different proportion of each ingredient should be used. In addition ingredients for that particular skin type can be added to enhance the benefits of the mask for the individual.
NORMAL SKIN = 6 part Clay / 2 part Aloe Vera / 1 part Honey
OILY SKIN = 6 part Clay / 1 part Aloe Vera / 2 part Honey / 1/2 Lemon juice
MATURE SKIN = 6 part Clay / 1 part Aloe Vera / 2 part Honey / 1 part Rose water / 1 part Vitamin E
BLEMISHED SKIN = 6 part Clay / 2 part Jojoba Oil / 1 Part Probiotic Powder
DIRECTIONS : Combine all the ingredients and apply to face / body. Leave for around 15 minutes and remove fully with warm water.
The masks can usually be stored in a glass air tight container in the fridge for a number of days but no longer than one week.
FACE PACK
As stated previously the face packs are much softer on the face and can be used multiple times per week if not daily (If you have the time to prepare, apply, sit & relax daily) Face packs help the skin to cleanse and tighten prevention premature ageing and protecting the skin against the elements.
SIMPLE PLANT BASED FACE PACKS
(MEASUREMENTS OF EQUAL PARTS EACH INGREDIENT)
NORMAL SKIN = Avocado / Banana / Grapes / Peach
SENSITIVE SKIN = Avocado / banana / 11 Tsp honey
DRY SKIN = Apple / Carrot / Pear / Melon
OILY SKIN = Lemon / Pear / Strawberry
MATURE SKIN = Apple / Avocado / Pear
BLEMISHED SKIN = Apple / Cabbage / Tomato
DIRECTIONS : Combine all the ingredients and apply to face / body. Leave for around 15 minutes and remove fully with warm water.
Make small batches at a time and store in the fridge for no more than 5 days.
